This makes Carlow’s rivers ideal for cruises on canal boats, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Indeed, anglers seek out the Barrow for its rich resource as a gaming angling river. Catches of the day include roach, perch, sea trout, salmon, roach and brown trout. The salmon and trout season run from March until September.
